Spelt is wholesome, strong and cheerful. The oldest known spelt deposits in Europe date back to the Stone Age (approx. 2000 BC). Spelt is not only one of the cereals richest in protein, but also contains many vitamins (E, B group, folic acid, niacin) and minerals, especially iron, magnesium and phosphorus. In addition, spelt contains six out of eight essential amino acids, which stimulate the production of happy hormones in the body. The high proportion of complex carbohydrates, fatty acids and dietary fibres makes spelt the ideal diet for line-conscious people and athletes. If you are careful not to over-acidify your body, spelt is a good choice: slightly alkaline, spelt has a neutral effect, which is perfect for the important acid-base balance.
